For an authentic Flintstones fancy dress party you need to decide which character you want to resemble.

To get an idea of how the characters look you can go online and look at fan sites. Fred Flintstone was known for dressing in spotty orange clothing so you may want to take an old t-shirt in that shade and cut the sleeves to make them look raggedy. Once you have cut the t-shirt you can glue on large circles cut from black fabric to form the spots.

Finally, tie an old piece of light blue fabric around your neck to form the scarf.  Barney dresses in a simple brown tunic which is easy to reproduce from a fabric such as soft fleece.

For Wilma you can adapt a large white t-shirt, making the edges raggedy with a pair of sharp scissors. For her huge beaded necklace you can string together some cheap table tennis balls, which you can pierce with a knitting needle and thread with strong elastic.

Betty wears a two-piece outfit in pale blue fabric, and again it is easy to cut up old clothes for this. To recreate the hairstyles for any of the characters the simple answer is to don a wig.  As far as shoes go; that’s the easiest part because they don’t wear any. And that’s it; you’re all set for a fabulous Flintstones fancy dress party.
