For a fun fancy dress idea how about creating your own banana costume?

You can make a yellow tube from yellow foam or felt, and cut out some holes for your arms. Make a pointed hat from another piece of foam or felt and paint the top of it black. You can use face paint to decorate your face, and wear a yellow long sleeved t-shirt or lightweight sweater to cover your arms.

Wear some yellow or black tights or leggings to finish off the look.  The whole thing should be very quick to make and quite simple, although you may need someone to help you with the measuring and fitting.

If on the other hand you’d prefer a shop bought banana costume these can be obtained at fancy dress outfitters on online. You can choose from a variety of designs and there are even inflatable ones available.

The fabric ones are very lightweight and be easily worn over your own clothes, whilst the inflatable ones are sure to attract more attention. Tiny tots can get in on the act too, and they can look very cute in miniature banana suits.

These can either be scaled down versions of the adult ones, or all in one baby suits with matching headgear.[ad#ad-6]
